Dr. Ranga Fernando, Optometrist
Following his graduation from the University of Toronto Dr. Fernando attended the Pennsylvania College of Optotmetry. He honed his skills at the Eye Institue in Philadelphia as well as the world renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institue in Miami, Florida. Upon graduation, he continued to work in Philadelphia where he provided a wide scope of practice that included treatment of emergencies and ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Fernando has been working in Peterborough since 2008 and is happy to have his wife Dr. Seevaratnam join him in the community.
Dr. Thavajinee Seevaratnam, Optometrist
Upon graduating summa cum laude in 2004 from McMaster University, Dr. Seevaratnam persued her optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry . She graduated in 2009 and was recognized for her excellence in clinical training. Her clinical rotations took her to the Niagara Eye Istitute and Batavia Veterans Affair Medical Center in New York where she gained valuable experience in the treatment of ocular diseases that included corneal disorders, iritis, glaucoma, diabetic retinopthy and macular degeneration.
